Library Cards
The Library Center of the Ozarks will directly serve the residents and property owners of the Branson and Hollister school districts.
- If you live or own property within the Branson or Hollister School Districts you are eligible for a FREE library card.
- If you attend a college in the Branson or Hollister School District you are eligible for a free library card.
- If you live outside of the school districts, you may purchase an Out-of-District library card for $75.
- Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present and the parent/guardian must get a card, too.
- Adult: ages 18 +
- Juvenile: ages 0 to 17
- Out-of-District: for residents living outside of the Branson or Hollister school district for an annual fee of $75.00 per household.
- Short Term Residents: for residents living in the Branson or Hollister school district for a short period of time (1-3 months) for a fee of $25.00. Library cards are good for 3 months with a borrowing limit of five items.
To apply for a card, bring a valid photo ID and a separate proof of residency or tax payment with you to the library.
Examples of acceptable IDs:
Driver’s License
State ID card
Passport
Military Photo ID
Examples of Proofs of Residency or Current Tax Payment (print or digital):
Mortgage, lease or rental agreement
Utility bill or cell phone bill
Bank statement
Proof of auto insurance
Paid tax receipt for the previous year (may be verified by Taney County Collector’s website)
- The cardholder (or adult listed on minor’s account) is responsible for all items checked-out on their card.
- Patrons must have their library card or photo ID to check out material.
- For your first 7 days as a new borrower, you may borrow only two items at a time.
- You may borrow up to fifteen (15) items at a time for 21 days.
- You may not borrow any items if you have unpaid charges on your account.
By registering a child for a card, the parent or guardian agrees that it is their responsibility to monitor and decide what is appropriate for the child to read, view, and check out until the child turns 18.
- Books, audiobooks, and DVDs may be renewed twice.
- Items may be renewed in person, by phone or online.
- Items on hold for another cardholder may not be renewed.
- You may place a hold on any item online, by phone, or in person.
- The library will notify you by email or text when the item is ready to be picked up.
- Material on hold will be held for seven (7) days.
- The maximum number of holds per borrower is eight (8).
- Use your library card number and your PIN to log into your account.
(The Login/User ID is your card number & the password is your last name with the first letter capitalized.)
