Need Tech Help? Book-A-Librarian!

Technology benefits us all in many ways. Computers and the internet allow us to work in new, exciting ways, and they allow us to access information and knowledge like never before. Social media enables us to stay in touch with friends and family across vast distances. Cell phone applications allow us to access electronic books and audiobooks at our convenience. When used properly, these forms of technology can improve our lives greatly. Using these technologies, however, can be rather difficult. Adapting to new devices, software, and updates can frustrate anyone. Learning from scratch can seem tough if not intimidating. That’s why the Library Center of the Ozarks is excited to announce its latest service, Book-A-Librarian!

Book-A-Librarian allows library cardholders to schedule a one-on-one meeting with library staff to get help with a variety of technology-based subjects. Library staff can help cardholders with hardware, such as computers, laptops, tablets and cell phones, and software, including email, word processors, and spreadsheet and presentation programs. Cardholders can also get help with digital library services, like Libby, hoopla, Mango Languages, and Gale Legal Forms as well as social media, like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X.

Other non-tech related services include test proctoring and, in the near future, notary services.
